Night Will Pass

Night Will Pass

Through the laughing crowd and the unconcern,
my hunger grew stronger as the night grew full, as full as the night before.
The food was passed around still looking for more. But in a while I shall feed again, starved like the jackals in the desert.
My strength was in my taste of wine, as the tongue lies and the pallet deceives.
The night was not still, but growing stronger.
Time was not my friend but yet hoping it will not end.
If I knew what I know now, the morsel would be Gaul, refusing to even wet my lips.
My shame was not enough and knowledge was lacking, so I endured my hardship.
For the question still remains 'what is truth, and where is this great white pearl?
The river leads to great dark oceans and in it you will find life.
The day has broken and the night hides itself. In the darkness there is knowledge, the stars are proof of that. For a spark can swallow and devour a nation.

The dark remains dormant.
Rise old sun, come forth the day, show me your new creation.

My heart is ready and night will pass.

New Beginnings, and change, Creation, this is really good, WS

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
