Nightmare

Nightmare

I had a nightmare last night
a horrible strike
two cars
leaving marks
i heard people yell
as the passengers fell
i wasn't really there
but all the pain was shared

i ended up in the hospital
trying not to fall
as grief and disbelief
forced itself in
the doctor grabbed my chin
and told me what i didn't want to know
and all i could do was scream no

vision ruined by tears
confirming my biggest fear
my dad was gone forever
never to be seen
until i woke from my dream
letting my eyes prove the lies

two cars
didn't strike
didn't leave marks
in the night

Awh Jelani lol (:

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
