No One Can Understand

No One Can Understand

Your light shines in my eyes,
but I wish you'd rise so that you can set.
Because during your rein
he just yells.
I can't deal with it anymore-
I'm crawling on the floor-
He's screaming.
All I want to do is cry,
but he calls me a child.
I'm drowning-it's wet-
He's screaming.
All I want to do is die
I let go to fall,
but he's pulling me up again-
He's screaming.
I cry out "Why?"
He calls me a child.
I'm broken on the floor-
He's screaming.
Your light no longer shines.
I no longer fear just your rise-
He's screaming.

Is it man or God....... Man is the yeller and God is subtle...... No-one should yell at us.... I turn and run from it...... red

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
