Nocturne Of Shadows

Isolated within this, This that is empty as a cold cellar. Alone, apprehensive for which I am left in a state of vulnerability. Deprived of sleep, love, happiness and the will to carry on in life due to the sinew of the Reaper's grasp. A void left in the vessel which is I; that leaves me to carry a facade of assurance to others that everything is copacetic. The dreadful impression of the lonesome of a ghost set to wander in thy own self pity longing to escape. Trapped within my own vacuity longing to be released from this prison. The voices....voices that call upon me. Hesitant to adhere to there call. I hear the vibrations or footsteps as they land on the waxed floorboards. The slow tapping noises of each step echoing of the walls. The dreadful , lonely vessel bound and chained drenched in the blood of a broken heart, the fragile warped mind of a shattered psyche. I look around in awe, to find no one by my side. No one to turn to but the bitter shadows that surround me. I have no one. A shroud of darkness swarms and covers the room. In a vague glance from afar I see the window start to fog as if the temperature shifted in the room. The words "I've come for you" begin to appear. I hear a cold voice on the nape of my neck whisper.....how does it feel...to be all alone....with nobody to comfort you. Nobody to confide in...how does it feel to lose everything you've every cared about everyone you've loved. My souls weeps as anger and rage filled the void where my heart once was. Out of the shadows an enormous hand reaches out to clinch me. My eyes awaken as I jump from my slumber; to come to the realization that I am yet still alone. Alone with no one to turn to for help.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
