not so unseen now

  • Lost Love

    not so unseen now

    you walked in
with the cold wind behind you
laid your keys on the table
I pretended not to notice you
    my face would give away
    how my season had changed
    overnight from a perfect life
    to a god-awful drain
but you were out of sight then
oh how long has it been
I was busy trying to keep this dream alive
keeping my heart where it should've been
like a thief you have stolen from me
    when I was not looking
I wasn't fixed on reading any signs
    because my life was happy
now I know where it is you go
when it seems that I don't know
but I watch as you unravel us
and rake our life across the coals

How much of the pain we endure is sometimes is by choice (not choosing hurt, but the environment that it thrives in) I can remember all my bad decisions, whether to stay or flee.

This is an amazing look inside a heartbreak. 10 from me.

I could feel the pain and anguish in the poem you have written. It seems that we all write our best when the heart is involved. well done.

I have flown this flight and walked through the same ruins—beautiful!

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
