    nursing home

    they're waiting for their time,
clutching in their palms nickel and dime.
so flustered they crying out it loud,
smiling, sobbing crazy as it sound.
'can you give me a cigarette?'
'we'll give you later', and they'll never forget.
    'grandma it's time to bed',
she mumbles a word and wishing she was dead.
    'how you doing grand dad?'
'i'm so tired', with a face not so glad.
a palace for gray and old,
    lonely and confused i scold.
through the bed sheet as i fold,
felt the aura of eerie and cold.
to think, nobody wants to end up here,
but so many souls are here longing for care.
like things when rusted and batter,
dumping station..nursing home, you'll be here later.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
