    Poem Commentary

just wanted to write a heartbreak poem....getting some old dust out of my heart.

    emotion void of devotion
    insidious and indigenous
        this hole is all mine
her breath on my chest grows cold
and i hear her footsteps fade
    as i dream

    our lives unfold and fragment
    into pieces
hitting the ground as the laughter decreases
i don't want you to leave but you must
i don't want to cry , but trust
that most of me will die
    without you

carefree kisses turned out to be everything but free
days of sun and sun showers will forever be
a horrendous tale to relive without thee
    i am in love
    but out of time
time is never a friend of mine.

Beautiful. You captured the emotion well. This makes me sad, and appreciative of what once was. Great poem.

The term "Carefree Kisses" painted a joyful picture! Great imagery and wordplay!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
