OBSERVING WHAT YOU DO

OBSERVING WHAT YOU DO

 I’d rather see a sermon

Than hear one any day,

I’d rather one would walk with me

Than merely tell the way.

The eye’s a better pupil,

More willing than the ear,

Fine counsel is confusing

But example’s always clear.

.

The best of all the preachers

Are the ones who live their creeds,

For to see good put in action

Is what everybody needs.

And the lecture you deliver

May be very wise and true,

But I’d rather get my lesson

By observing what you do.

This is how I feel too. I have known our pastor all my life, and he is the paradigm of perfect pastors. This poem reminds me of what a good example he and his wife are. GOOD POEM!!!!!

Excellent write and message. Learning by example. Very well done. I like you style and the flow of your work.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
