Ode to the Belly Dancing Girl

    The zills chime,

As the beat of the drums

    Cause her hips to

    Move up and down

    Back and forth

    In a sexual cadence

    Her beauty unmatched

Her hair long and raven black

Stops just before the swell of the back

    Her heart pure

    Her dancing

    Hypnotic

    Her hips tell

    A thousand tales:

    Tales of love,

    Tales of heartbreak,

    Tales of passion,

    Tales of rage,

    Tales of lust,

Tales of forbidden fruit tasted at last

    Her hip bells

    Jingle and jangle magically

    As she spends

    Seemingly above

    The floor

    The men in the crowd

    Hypnotized

Her arms reach up towards the heavens

    As they snake there

Way up it seems as if

    She can almost touch

    The feet of God

    Her veil twirls

    As it drapes over her

    Thin and cat like frame

The music speaks to her heart

Just as God speaks the pure

    The music fills her

    Causing her hips to vibrate

    In a beautiful,

    But seizure like fashion

This is the way she speaks to the crowd

    How free she is

    To say what

    Most leave unspoken

They may not know her name,

But she's the one they dream about

She’s the one they come to see

She’s the one they all cheer for

    She’s the belly dancer girl

And for two hours a night

Her heart is an open book for you to read
