    Of All My Dreams

    I have had dreams

    For most all my life

     

    Many have come true

    And many have yet to

     

    You would think I would be happy

    This far into life

     

    Instead, I am feeling lonely

    Wondering why I am still alive

     

    I have lost most of my family

    I felt the closest to

     

    Even my dearest friends

    Have gone ahead of me too

     

    So what is it Lord

    You would have me do

     

    Stay here on earth

    Or come to heaven with you

     

    Whatever your choice

    And I leave it to you

     

    My faith grows ever stronger

    My life belongs to you

     

    Of all my dreams

    I want one most

     

    To feel like I made a difference

    In the lives I have touched

    I honestly wonder sometimes Marie... I try so hard to find happiness in my life, but it never stays.. now with severe health issues, i find myself once again asking God the same questions i have many times before... What is it he wants me to do or accomplish before I go? I only wish i knew....My heart is breaking at this point in my life.... Thanks for your kind comments... Mary

    I really identified with this a lot. Something that I've learned is that I have a difficult time trusting that I have already made a difference because most often I just don't have the opportunity to see it. I believe poetry is a big way to make a difference; and I'm grateful you share it with us.
