Oh! How I miss you so

Poem Commentary

To my beloved mother. Like every moment of our lives, here one minute and gone the next.

Oh! How I miss you so

When I drive down the street and your songs come on
When I look at the buddleia and see the swallowtail flutter by
When I feel the wind pick up my bangs and force me to recognize
I miss you
When gram sobs and the dogs look back and forth
When I hear a bell ring and I feel like a little kid
When my heart aches at night for my momma by my side
I miss you
I want to sleep next to you tonight
I want to curl up on your bed and smell your scent
I want you to hold me and rock me through the night
I miss you
When the night grows long
When Tracy sings your songs
When the moon shines down
When my heart wears a frown
But I can't see you anymore
I can't feel you anymore
You won't hold me ever again
I'm motherless
I'm fatherless
I feel helpless
I miss you momma,
I miss you so.

Wow, that was very sad, I was a little teary eyed when I read it. I am very sorry to hear that you don't have a mother or father figure in your life. I am very sorry that you lost your mom. If you need anything just to let you know that I am hear for you if you want to talk. Sunshine aka Donna

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
