    Old Fairy Tale

You knew her as the girl
Who always seemed to be smiling.
    Now shes the girl
    That seems to be dieing
    On the inside.

She had a smile for you
    Every day.
Now she sits in the corner
    Thinking her days away.

    Pink was her
    Favorite color.
    Now she'd rather where black
    Than any other.

    Her smiles are rare,
    But who would even care
    To notice?

    You knew her
    As your girl
Now the memories seem to be
    An old fairytale.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
