Once Again

Once Again

i hear within myself a still small voice telling me to go ahead
speak that word that hides itself beyond these walls
an unspoken word speaks very loud
expressions on our faces say what we cannot through words
hurt seeps out without our control of it
to my mind what i think only causes grief
walking in my own way worked for a time
having to reckon with others brought me to a place to unwind
when direction through thought is not clear
clarity is needed to speak loud and sheer
the test is in knowing what to say
never to come back void with having to say i am sorry
able to share with others than oneself
price less when once again you are given a chance
holding on to hope that manifests so strong
wells up like an over flowing brook
assured in going through this time of fear only to come out victorious
humbling oneself in keeping an open mind, heart and ear
giving up is not an option to behold
standing with my convictions allows me to be bold
the spoken word will unfold against the test

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
