Orange Ginger

Poem Commentary

You know how a song, a place or thing can take you right back in time?  I associated orange ginger with someone from my past.  It's one of those aroma therapy type scents.

Orange Ginger

Orange Ginger
(Deborah Taylor)

I've grown to love this fragrance
so nostalgic
permeating the air
greeting me when I enter my space
reminding me of a time no longer
but not forgotten
I tell myself move forward
but still I punish myself with the aroma
of orange ginger
It holds within it's bouquet
a lingering promise
never quite spoken
never kept
never meant
only anticipated
by a foolish heart
I go to sleep with orange ginger in the air
I need a new beginning
but don't know where to start
Orange Ginger's everywhere

Hmmm no orange ginger to be found, I must test my female friends and see if they can accommodate for your words have left me yearning to further experience the aroma,,, I like the way this is written and related a scent to the sensual sensation of a place and person. 10

Thank You, Soulwriter. Orange Ginger is available at Bath and Body Works in the aroma therapy section. Lotions, bath gells, oils, candles, shampoo and condioners all in the same scent. I admit I still love the scent though it no longer possesses the same nostalgic attachment.

Poetry is what is lost in translation.
