Poem Commentary

i was inspired the write this after reading wordslingers piece entitled america stopped singing and started slinging words... please take the time to read his http://www.originalpoetry.com/america-stopped-singing-and-started-slin

our mother

you turn a blind eye as our mother dies
never an ounce of concern
will you ever learn
you play ignorant to screams and cries
and turn a blind eye as our mother dies

you turn a deaf ear to the things you hear
never taking a stand
or doing what you can
denying propaganda as fear
you turn a deaf ear to the things you hear

you turn your back while our mother is under attack
never looking around
to see we are going down
commitment is what the world lacks
you turn your back while our mother is under attack

you keep a closed heart while our mother is torn apart
never caring how she bleeds
driven by self-greed
you wake up completely in the dark
and keep a closed heart while our mother is torn apart

while our mother dies you turn a blind eye and a deaf ear
to the things you see and hear
ignorant with no concern
you will never learn
our mother cries and dies before your deafened ears and blinded eyes

our mothers heart is torn apart right behind your back
she is under attack
her blood is upon your hands
while you refuse to take a stand
our mother dies of a broken heart and is torn apart while you sit in the dark

I like this Dano, but mother earth is quite capable of our brief intrusion in her history. What the concern is our survival for the balance is tedious at best and if we upset it she will recycle us. We walk around doing blindly what should be measured carefully and all out of profit and greed. We were designed with intelligence to be tenders, gardeners of a paradise and we muck it up; Earth is a crowning jewel among jewels.

i believe that our mother is shake us off like a bad case of flees because of what we have and are currently doing to her... we a plague that is killing our home... i hope people wake up before its too late

It is killing us. Suicide by ignorance.

This is a poem one reads and wishes they had wrote it. fluid and always changing yet the words remain the same. genius!

my heart is humbled by your comment... thank you so much

The time is near when all will see what their ignorance and empty bliss has done. She can't last much longer like this. I enjoy your writing style because it's honest and open with savory emotions. I'd like to keep reading...

thanks rose... i wish more people would open thier eyes to the critical situation that we are in and try to do something to make a differnece

I equated Mother to Earth. Hmmm, I read your comment and I think I could be right. Interesting style.

I liked the poem very much, it built expectation of a great ending alone the way, and you did not disappoint. Great poem!!!!!

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
