Our Relationship
I’m sitting here thinking,
Just wondering what happened
Between the two of us.
Why did things ever end
Up the way they did?
Was there ever love in
Our relationship?
Or was it just
Two foolish kids
Thinking they were
In love?
I would have to
Think that there had
To have been love
In the relationship
Somewhere, or else
How is it that I
Could be sitting here
With a hole in my
Heart because we
Are no longer together?
Now that I think
About it, I have
Come to realize
That I was never
Foolish back then.
I was in love with you then,
Just as I am
In love with you now.
The only thing
That I could ever hope
For is that you
Fell the same way
As I do right now.
