    Our Seasons

    We are like the seasons
         You the summer
    And I the winter
You are so sure and warm
    And full of life
         Well, there is a beauty
    About winter
        But no great package
There is a peacefullnes at times
         At other times unrest
    While you, like summer
         Have a very perfect peace
    A sureness in yourself
         Even though the contrast
To one extreme or the other
         Just as the seasons do
    We seem to blend together
         Never overlapping
    Never smothering the other
         Just touching edges
So let us explore what we can
         Our falls and springs
    And never change
         You the summer and
    I the winter.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
