    Poem Commentary

     Fog seems to be a mystery, for it always hides reality.

    Out of The Fog

    The night was dark, the hour late
    And I found myself in the fog.
    I started out to run the lake,
    But found it too dark to jog.

    I found a bench to rest awhile,
    But everything  soon changed.
    The sights I could not reconcile
    And thought I was deranged.

    The street had turned to cobblestone,
    The street lights turned to gas.
    I heard footsteps on the stone
    And stood to let him pass.

    He took his hand in mine
    And asked me to sit down.
    Then spoke of the mysteries of time
    And how that man came down.

    I don't know how long he stayed,
    We must have talked all night.
    I only know the sense he made;
    How all he said seemed right.

    And then I woke to realize
    The fog had gone as had he
    And tears were welling in my eyes
    But all he said remained in memory.

    He came out of the fog that night
    And told me with his eyes
    That everything he said was right
    And not to believe in lies.

    There is a plan for man alright,
    But man must learn to care.
    To only do what he knows is right,
    And do what's always fair.

    There many things he said that night
    And I know I must do my part.
    He told me I would know what's right
    And now it's time to start...

    Beautiful words and delivery. What a special and poignant expression of love and duty. It is a dear reflection of a personal journey and an intimate nature that we all own inside ourselves if we can muster the faith to be strong and endure, love and forgive, hold the flame of honor to each other as we go our path. Very meaningful and inspiring without preaching.
