Pain
The pain I harbor is not a simple one
Nor are the secrets I keep
The world is a cruel one
Which causes me to weep
Hidden beneath the cloth
Are bruises black and blue
And scars of things since passed
Of what I've been through
You don't see the pieces
Of my shattered heart
How every day I live
I'm continually falling apart
The pain is hidden behind a mask
So others cannot see
What the others in my life
Have done to me
Beaten, battered, torn apart
Abused to my wits end
Wishing that just once
A single rule would bend
No one sees the pain
I harbor beneath my skin
Or that every time I sleep
I feel it all over again
Darkness tries to consume me
Depression plays tricks on my mind
Pain is never ending
This world is so unkind
No one hears
The silent screams
Or knows just what
All of this means
The nightmares never stop
Nor does any of the pain
I'm constantly reliving it
Over and over again
I cover the bruises and scars
So you will not see
What pain I suffer every day
What's slowly consuming me
I've adopted a persona
To hide who I am
As this world has taught me
No one gives a damn
You don't see how I suffer
You don't see my pain
Taking advantage of my kindness
Over and over again
You don't give a damn
Never did you care
You took a piece of me
Yourself you wouldn't share
The pain I harbor is not a simple one

The pain never stops
Nightmares won't go away
I relive every tragedy
Every single day
Don't your hear my silent screams
My eyes pleading yours for help?
Can you even imagine
The pain which I have felt?
You simply use me
For your personal needs
Then ouch me away
Once I've fed your greed
You don't see what I endure
Or feel the pain I feel
You think it's a fairy tale
But it is very real
You don't notice how I smile
Whenever you draw near
Or how you can calm me
When I'm amidst my fear
The way I'm always looking
Or standing by your side
Whilst you ignore me
To feed your silly pride
You don't see this pain
I harbor every day
Nor the fact your smile
Makes it all go away
You take me for granted
Use me for your desire
Didn't mommy ever tell you
Not to play with fire?
I harbor all my pain
And hide it from your eyes
But the way you now treat me
I honestly do despise
You don't see what you do to me
Whether it be pleasure or pain
But because I love you
I let you do it again and again
And still you do not see
How strong I feel for you
So il harbor that heartache
Until with me, you are through.
