    Painful Memories

Your pictures can't fill your shoes
    And neither can my tears
Who knew i had so much to lose
    From just a fleeting year

But the hours felt like days
So even in my empty heart
    I'm confused by Time's way
    Of tearing us apart

    It happened with a crack
    A strike of hissing lightning
    I found myself to lack
    What gave worth to everything

The reason why the sun was gold
    But now it always rains
I've  tried pawning my broken heart
    But nobody wants me pains.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
