Paint a Portrait

Paint me a portrait of who you want to be
I will make it so child, you can trust in me
Caress the wings of angels, join with them in hymns
I will never judge you, I love it when you sing

Return to all your youth, to all those treasured years
and bathe in the innocence they stole through your tears
Subdue that temptation to blame yourself for this
The fault belongs with God. It’s just the way it is.

Paint me a picture of what you want to see
Close your eyes now Sweetheart, you are safe with me
Sketch the streets with colour, and all the skies with blue
We can live in this world
This world is meant for you.
