    Poem Commentary

    never let anyone dictate your life, particularly your lover. try to have your own life apart from theirs because you are still an individual. don't lose "you" in a relationship because if you do, you become a puppet without the life that made special in the first place. this is my opinion, but i stand by it.

    paralyzed





    she approached my puzzle
    and solved me with a smile
    but
    i felt her beating me from the inside out
    and after a awhile
    i was bleeding from the mouth

    i was consumed in her hellfire
    her devils conducted the choir
    and they laughed at my voice

    i swung naked from a tree
    shy and shivering
    privates exposed for all to see
    too guilty to cry
    but too ashamed to open my eyes
    stitch me shut

    puppets aren't always cloth and wood
    sometimes they are bone and flesh
    but in the end they all confess
    to the gross and gratuitous good
    i was her toy and yes
    i did what i could, not what i should
    and became paralyzed

    You wouldn't believe how many friends I've seen take the same path. I've lost friendships trying to show people how they had lost themselves.

    i too have lost friends....maybe saying too much to save someone from themselves. i have made MY mistakes, now i allow others to make them too, as painful as it is to watch. thank you for your time !

    Wow.....I can so relate to this write.....I lost myself once to someone else....it took longer than the relationship to get me back...very well written my friend....Cher
