    it was I
    that passed by
    did you see me?
    my eyes to reveal me
but I was on a mission
    and so were you
    so we didn't linger
    who has time for that?
    cast aside as many others
    in our daily passes
    without second glances
    it is beyond a habit
    it is the consumption
    of ourselves
    to stay moving
    just to leave ourselves
    wondering where I
    wondering where you
    have seen "us"

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
