Poem Commentary

This poem was written because I lost my Pastor several years ago. He was responsible for my renewal in faith. He trully was a man of God!

Pastor

I OPENED ONE EYE FIRST THIS MORNING,
TO PEER OUT OF MY WINDOW, TO A GLORIOUS SUNRISE.
SECURE IN THE FACT THAT THE DAY HAD COME,
AND NIGHT HAD FALLEN.
I OPENED MY SECOND EYE,
TO CATCH THE FULLNESS OF NATURES BEAUTY.
I OPENING MY EARS TO HEAR,
THE SWEET SONG
OF THE SPARROW OUTSIDE OF MY WINDOW;
WHICH GRANTED ME SO MUCH HOPE.
THEN THERE WAS SILENCE,
IT WAS SO DEFENING TO MY EARS.
IT DRAINED MY HEART.
I DROPPED TO MY KNEES CONSUMED IN ALL MY SORROW;
FOR NO LONGER WOULD HIS SONG OF WORDS FLOW;
BUT WHEN MY SECOND TEAR HIT THE EARTH,
HIS SONG WAS HEARD ABOVE;
AT THAT POINT I KNEW THAT THE HEAVENS ABOVE WERE FOREVER!

Wonderful words-with such grace,you have brought for us to enjoy.Your Pastor sounds like an amazing person-to have changed your life so profoundly.It is just such a miracle the way we interweave with diffrent people on our journey-all part of such a design.I believe one of the greatest honors we can hope for is to be remembered after we part from this earth.You have brought such honor to this man.You are such a true soul,and such a gift as a friend Trevon!!

Watch your spelling. Good expression of emotion in your words.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
