Pawns
They are little pawns
In the game of life
Love sometimes cuts
Through their spirit like a knife
Bounced from one
Parent to the other
Sometimes sister
Sometimes brother
Loving to be with one
Hating to be with the other
Sometimes father
Sometimes mother
Parents often get
Comfortable in this deal
Often times doesn’t matter
How the kids feel
They take the time away
To recall and reflect
Not caring the kids are
Suffering from neglect
They love their time
They love their freedom
Not caring the other
Parent may beat em
In this type situation
The kids are the losers
The right parent has to
Step up and be the soother
They’re life not normal
They bounce there and back
They try to be good but
There life is out of whack
They never have time
To get comfortable and relax
They bounce so fast they
Have to keep their bags packed
Some parents think it’s a
Battle they just can’t win
It’s easy not to try
And just give in
I’m a grandparent and
It so hurts my heart
Seeing those little lives
Being ripped apart
What causes this to happen
It’s divorce of course
Some parents just don’t
Feel any remorse
God please protect these children’s
lives and give them strength
to endure such trials. Sometimes
they have only You to
protect them in everything they do.
AMEN
