    Pennies

    Pennies in a well
    Wishes left for the gods
    Unforgotten desire and need
Are the pennies in the well of my soul

    I have thrown in pennies
    Like little copper tears
    Of my lost soul
    My travels so unknown

The bitter taste left upon my lips
    Wishes left unanswered
    Children’s endless cries
    Pennies in a well

A blue sky of copper stars
Desires as snowflakes upon my skin
I have thrown out all my wishes
Just like Pennies in a well
