Perception

Your accommodating
smile forewarns me
Your syrupy disposition
nauseates me
Your experienced touch
makes my skin crawl

I note your heart's desire
to dominate, posses
I detect your tense anticipation
yearning to subjugate, to crush
I observe the barely restrained violence
in your need to humiliate, consume

I sustain your pleasure
as I cry, as I struggle
I bear your excitement
my fear, my hurt bring to you
I endure your satisfaction
in my inability to breathe

Your welcome is worn
my heart I take back
I am done with you
you have no place left in me
We are finally through
I will never look back

Very dramatic and picturesque.A person can interpret this poem in many ways. For me it is hearing you tell the devil to take a hike. I like your style of writing. Keep the imagination and the reality of your poems flowing. Good works

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
