    Poem Commentary

    Will our understanding ever exceed our beliefs?

    Philosophic Haiku

    Let your beliefs go
    Because they were never yours
    But from Nicaea


         taught to seven years
         a child will hold on to it
         the rest of his life


                   No Perfect God Loves
                   Neither can it use your prayers
                   Yet life is perfect


      could we learn the truth
      what would we understand then
      might we all be gods?

               why can't there be peace?
               compassion is not yet ours
               nor is empathy

    Interesting poem, I respect your beliefs. I disagree of course...hugs.... Also: I know Eve agreed with stanza 4. I'm running to read some more thought provoking poems of yours. I like them.

    Thanks, L. Not looking for another belief system, only hoping to get enough understanding to look for other ways. We have stagnated in our beliefs, and the world hasn't changed - has it?

    Glad you like it M. I have spent most of my life trying to understand that what we have been told is all about power, not enlightenment.

    If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
