    Plea of Mother Earth

    I have cradled my children.
    I have sustained their souls.
    Why do they not heed my cry?
    If this continues I shall surely perish.
    I shall fade away.
    I will surely die.
    Oh please my children hear my plea!
    If it be not of this earth, it be not of me!
    Fever beseeches my very core, as I struggle to heal my essence.
    Take note of the illness that surrounds you in the beauty of my silent presence.
    Please my children honor my plea…
    If it be not of this earth it be not of me.
    Cankerous toxins exploit my veins;
    It is seeping deep into the depths of my soul.
    Strangling and suffocating that which sustains your life;
    Toxins are breaking down the system that makes us whole.
    My plea is heard in the cry of the whale;
    She croons the warning wail of extinction.
    Beaching her self upon the sands;
    For I’ve not the strength to support her existence.
    My children hear my plea!!
    If it be not of earth it be not of me.
    I need your help. I need it now.
    Nurture me with herbs,to clean your home and hearth.
    Sustain my life and nurture me; beloved mother earth.

    An exquisite "Earth Day" poem. Very well done. Can't wait to see what's next.

    Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
