Biography

Butterfly Woman's poetry are anchors of thoughts that build and develop, adding layers of meaning and intensity. These poems are as simple, or as complicated as the mood or need of the reader. Each verse has layers of meaning, but at their most simplistic they are about passion, be that for your lover, your deity or nature. Passion burns like a beacon in the night. Read and enjoy, immerse yourself in a sensual journey of spiritual discovery.
Write, paint or compose but always enjoy your creativity..we are all unique and perfect in our countenance.

I was born in Argyle in Scotland in 1968. My family were historically military, so we had a very naturally nomadic lifestyle; making no roots or lasting relationships.
I am spiritual but not traditionally religious. I aspire to connect with my God, in whatever name you find familiar. I lead a life that gives to others and works towards enabling others achieve their potential.
I have always written, always seeking for connection with both my spiritual and physical self. Wordsworth, Byron and Keats inspire me; however World War 1 poetry ignites my passions.
My working career is removing barriers to learning for vulnerable young people and it is a complete and satisfying passion of mine. I believe that every single person matters and has the right to achieve their potential.
My poetry is about passion in its most simplistic form. However when 'unpicked', about discovering what makes you burn, what drives you to satisfaction and change.
I have been blessed with a divine muse, the 'Great Angel'. He inspires and invokes both physical and spiritual passions.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
