Christina V. Torres, a native New Mexican, received her associates degree from NMSU-A in 2003. Currently she works at as a Developmental English Tutor and Testing Center Proctor for NMSU-A. She plans to continue her education at NMSU pursuing a degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. With this degree she hopes to open many doors of opportunity for those individuals that do not have the skills or courage to continue an education. She enjoys taking the time to lend a hand for students in need.

Christina also has a taste for fine arts and has included them as a leisure pursuit throughout her life. As a teenager she enjoyed playing in the marching band and singing in the choir. She continued her music appreciation by playing in local band. She also has a taste for the Mexican culture and lived in Zacatecas, México for over a half of decade learning and living her lost culture. Through art music and poetry she has found a way to express what is lost in typical conversation.
