Biography

Biography of the Poet

I am who I am, life has made me that way
From weathering storm and catastrophic display
I choose not to be any more than I am
And work hard not to be any less of a man

Getting to know me is easy you see
Without all the questions and stories from me
For knowing me now is all there in text
and following further you'll find out what's next

I may seem too private but am transparent as glass
I'm not who I'm not, I live in my class
You'll see through me as a large window pane
My joy is the sunlight and my sorrow the rain

If you wish to know who I am or will be
It's all black and white and deep as the sea
It's the roll of the thunder or the song of the birds
If you wish to know me, read me in my words

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
