    Poem Commentary

I, like many people became facinated with the wreck of the Titanic when the movie came out and when they found the ship on the bottom of the ocean and went down to see it in the submercable. This poem tells the story of the night she went down.

    Poseidon's Tears

From the stocal realm of Poseiden
    The sirens beckoned her down.
Stabbed by the icy fingers of Neptune
Exposing the wound at her heart
They built her strong and proud
No, Never would she wear a shroud
They said she would not die.

"Lower away, lower away the life boats
    Came the cry.
The soft strains of a hymn brought calm
Nearer my God to Thee, the band played on
Slowly, ever so slowy as she slipped beneath the waves
Wails of terror cound be heard
Then silence, not one uttered another word
That April night as dathe came and
    Posienden Cried.
