  • Just posted a poem titled "As I grow older".

Prayer

We say that we are grateful

When we kneel and pray

I heard a fellow saying that

Just the other day

Just how much does our father

Really fail to hear

If the desires of our heart

Are truly not sincere

Empty words during prayer

Are phrases said in vain

So if you’re not sincere

You might As well refrain

Prayer is like an artist painting

Each stroke is placed with care

Gratitude with real intent

The keystone of a prayer

If your heart is right

You should kneel and say

Thank you lord for

The blessings of the day

Tell him you are grateful,

Pray with real intent

Sincerely being thankful

For the blessings he has sent

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
