    PRECIOUS CHILD OF MINE

     Precious child of mine;
    You try your best to do everything so fine.

    Precious child of mine;
    Does everything right down the line.

    Precious child of mine;
    Is great like the age of wine.

    Precious child of mine;
    Is never the one behind.

    Precious child of mine;
    Helps everyone and leaves their sign.

    Precious child of mine;
    Would never leave their friends hanging from a vine.

    Precious child of mine;
    Thereis only one of a kind.

    Very nicely written....I too have children and can relate to this poem. Thank you for sharing your vision and thoughts.

    your very welcome. My two sons, are my life and is my life. if it wasn't for them i would of been gone a long time ago. It is hard being a single parent trying to raise them, then my ex took my youngest away when i was down and out with a health problem. my life is still complete because i know deep down inside my sons know i really care for them.

    Indeed, a very nice poem. It has excellent rhymn and rhythmn. And you make use of metaphors,which, I believe is necessary for writing poems. I especially like the verse - Precious child of mine; would never leave their friends hanging from a vine. You have a good comprehension of writing poems. Keep up the good work. Also, you may find my poem entitled -Nefer- to be a worthwhile read.

    I want to thank you so much for your comment that really makes me feel good about myself. It is a long story about the poem precious child of mine. It pertains to my youngest son, william

    Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
