    Prison showers

    The noise is deafening
    The screaming, laughing, talking, crying
    Every molecule vibrates with sound
I breathe noise, it bounces around inside like a pinball machine…
    Pounding, slamming inside my brain

    No relief…not in hell
Giant locks on metal doors, thick square bars on the bullet proof windows
    There’s no f**king way out
Get use to it or go crazy
And not a god damn soul cares either way

So I wait in line for a shower
    Moldy walls…black slime
Don’t drop the soap and if you do, leave it
I let the water scald my back, my legs, my chest
The searing pain is keeps me grounded
You can’t lose your mind when your flesh burns

The water shoots out of the shower head like a bullet
Damn it…but if I find the right spot to stand…just the right spot
    Breathe harder, don’t move…Yes!!! For a second, I’m out of here…out of hell…
Heart pumping ecstasy...just me and the shower head

No one else knows or cares what just went down
    locked up in hell
The only escape is shower time.
