PUNISHMENT

    Poem Commentary

When you love, you don't hide your feelings.
Because you can hurt yourself and at the same time the person that really loves you.

    PUNISHMENT

    PUNISHMENT

Betray your feelings, lie to yourself

Because the shine of your eyes says

    The whole truth

You know that in some place in your heart

You carry a picture of me with

    The sign I love you

When we are together the universe turns

Completely red, the darker night turns into

    A sunny day

Giving to both of us a real reason to live

But if this is something that you don’t

    Want to admit

Go ahead and hide this feeling that all

    Your body can see

Say no to this irresistible love, and punish

    Me

The sweet and sour pain that can be, when your love denies the truth.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
