    Poem Commentary

This is another older piece but it has a double meaning...so there are layers lol. There are hints throughout the piece as to who I am talking about but if you aren't into the genre or platform...you might not pick it up. Happy sleuthing. Enjoy!!!!!!

    "A Stark Life"

    A Stark life

Death before dishonor or dishonor be my moniker

My vision’s out of focus, yet persistent on the monitor

One man am I to weed the evil out, armed with a howitzer

Untouchable to say the least, armored core, not a coward’s turf

I bring justice to the league of misdeeds on this sour earth

Cling to the past, the present, the future

My healing is fast, I only bleed through the suture

A soldier of fortune, I see profit in the prophecy

Of war, famine, hunger, and planetary mediocrity

Never looked back at what I caused, a trail of tears

I was the reason why they prayed, the answer to their fears

My brain treated with a solvent, which made me invincible

Well, whatever you want to call it, it made me Insensible

My senses desensitized, with daily visions of mayhem

Any sentimental values I had, was forced to break them

A killing machine bred to rain carnage wherever I stand

And harness the power of the closed fist of an iron hand

An Iron man or a monger of war torn out of the turn out

Images of villages burned out burn out a whole bout

In my mind, but I stand firm in my fox hole, as woes shout

Out to me, as if I can be something different now

As if I can change what I was built to be, how?

Can you expect the careless to care...?

When we ourselves hold no stock for share

My life’s work, course, changed when I saw a lady hang

No training could undo what I felt, these feelings are strange

To say the least of my new found outlook and purpose

I am now a seed planted to rejuvenate and green the surface

A righter of wrongs, doer of good, beacon of hope if you will

A symbol of triumph over the misdeeds and bringer of swill

My change of side brought anger to the pride of the lion’s den

A need to weed us out as mice among many other giant men

By my lead we will show the strength no other fighters can

Our enemies will marvel at the strength of this improved iron hand

And as avengers we shall rid the earth of the evil element

I suit myself up for battle, and feel fulfilled, as I have now become…

This was a VERY fun read, Malik... especially after I realized that I was reading about the fictional Tony Stark and not an actual person! Bravo!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.
