    Poem Commentary

    Every artist has experienced what I have put into this poem. Or atleast will experince at one point or anouther. It tells how at one moment you can have the story of a life time in your head then just as the story begins to unfound before your eyes. Its gone. Never to be seen again.

    "Drawing a Blank"
    ..A writers fear..

    I shutter to go near as I gaze upon the white light
    Images of my past constructed words slowly float beside me
    As I stand in the blank nothingness that is my mind
    Then Dark portraits and figures that I created and brought to life
    Begin to appear and move toward me from the distance
    One by one the shadowy figures followed by evil landscapes
    Fall to their knees in front of me gravling at my feet calling me master
    I am not your master, I tell them, I am only your creator
    For everyone has their own choice to who they will become
    Then in a Dark cold voice I hear one of the figures whisper
    ...Oh but you are so much more...
    As he lifts up a demons mirror to show me my reflection
    I look only to see myself in a long black robe
    Wielding a scythe Just as I wield my pen
    ..As If I was going to change the world..
    Strong with my new found ego and an evil grin
    I snap back into reality!
    Then as I begin to put the words on paper
    ..Yet Again..
    ..I draw a blank..

    I had that same trip but that is what you must write to get back in the groove. Life will bring you more pleasure or pain or a sweet mixture of both to fuel the writers tank.Keep it going my friend.

    this sound a little like death or dying, don't go into the light, lol or drawing a blank because you can't find anything to write about, I can so relate I draw a blank all the time, and then snap back into reality lol, great poem, well written, I enjoyed the imagery, and you should keep writing, just let the words flow.

    Dark, but not too dark. I loved the humor you snuck in at the end. It was as though all the creatures you have ever created were crowding all around you, then POOF, they all disappear and you are staring at a blank page. Good write TS
