love again as strangers

  • Just completed my new collection of poems, "Time Machine", a collections of Rock Ballads to set your own music to.

love again as strangers

have i walked down 42 roads?
my darling,
have i ravaged the heartland
of your fields?

there are the first crocus'
of the year
and no snow is forecast
as was in the year i lost you

and now we love again
as strangers
without smoke nor wine

and both
far too numb
to reintroduce ourselves

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
