"Why not?"

"Why not?"

Why not listen to the outbursts of America? Why not teach our children about the brutal mountainous obstacles that society brings upon on us? Why not teach one to dream,to dream of what they want in life & go for it. Why not take responsibilty in our own actions & step up & say "I'm sorry". Why not overcome what society wants us as people to fail? Overcome in triumph is what we need to do. Make society believe that we can prevail in any situation it throws @ us. Why not see what I see? A world full of hatred & terror. Minimum wages which can't help anyone get to not even the first step of their plan. Why not come together as one & change a life or two, maybe even the world. Why not?

HI again. while I am not African -American, both of my adult children are. Being part of a muti-racial family has allowed me to see more clearly. Racial bigotry, prejudice, and racism are all still alive and well in our country. I have fought for both my kids in many, many situations. However, I must say that they continue to let me down all the time. They have stolen cars from me, packs of blank checks, even my debit card. I have fraudulent charges on my card as I speak. I am tired. It is not at all about the fact that they are children of color, it is about many bad choices that they continue to make. With Obama in charge, I feel that much will change within our country, but it may take a lot longer than we like. I will always stand up when I hear of unfair treatment to anyone, especially those who are treated poorly because of the color of their skin.

Omg are you serious???? I'm sorry to hear that, that's awful... I hope they can see one day that what they did and are doing is wrong... They shouldn't treat you that way especially the way you've taken care of them and raised them... I can only imagine how hard it was for you....

Why not? I like this one. I like the fact that as a young man you have some deep thoughts of what's going on today. We need more young Obama men (black or white) to put in motion some changes. We put aside issues too easy and we talk about everybody else, what they got on, what they do, why, who is big boss and all that, but we got some real issues people forget about, not to be a downer all the time, but it's good to discuss what really affects us.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
