Poem Commentary

"Every moment can be a lesson."

RAINBOW ON MY DOOR (c) Copyright 2009

Nestled in the olive folds of fabric
Carried off in timeless deep thought
The comfort of this spot seemed steady
But in the throes of worry, I was caught

Yet sitting at just the right angle
Like God intended for that brief spell
As my daydream dissipated,
A sun ray wandered in and fell

And made a rainbow on my door...

A burst of color in the shape of
A blank, but open scroll
This flashing kaleidoscope began to roll
and intrigue me
As the sun weaved
between the clouds outside
Lighting up the room in brilliant splendor
What troubled me before, I could no longer remember.

THis is a vivid constant image once it takes hold. I like the way you carried it out over the piece and the vividness makes it stick in my head...well not stick but move around and swirl are better words lol. You have kudos...from me :) I am so so sorry it took me so long to get over here...your message became part of the sandwich :( But I rescued it and now...there you have it :)

this is so nice... easy flow, matching and has a great revelation about time and need... when the Universe steps in and just pushes something really incredible in our face as if to say, "whoa... what Ever are you thinking... look here.... " I often wonder how many of the little magic moments we get... once, many centuries ago, so it feels, I was darker than the longest day of Dec. 22, wrapping presents, when all of a sudden, out of the night beyond the TV, this cat started playing with ribbons and papers on the floor, and before I could remember my previous thoughts, my stomach almost hurt from laughing.... just magical the way the mood changed.... like you caught here in your poem.

This poem is very descriptive, and I love the idea of being so involved in the wonders of God to where you forget all about you worries and unimportant thoughts. Great write. 10 from me.

Beautiful moment captured in wonderful words and choice phrasing. You captured my focus to want to find this room to delight in this rainbow. I loved it!

Then the poem accomplished what was intended.... thanks again for reading. Blessings to you...

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
