    Poem Commentary

    A truth that rolls gently off my tongue.

    Reaching Out

     We haven't spoken
    In many years
    Then she said, 'hello'
    And then disappeared
    Three times I responded
    Three times I have tried
    With only echoes returned
    My own echoes I find

    Understanding eludes me
    Reason unseen
    Hello then silence
    What does it all mean?
    There's so much to say
    Of mind and of heart
    A friendship between us
    I hoped one could start

    History behind us
    Though memories remain
    I'm sure we're both different
    And yet still the same
    Much smarter and wiser
    Much more then back then
    I still hold on to hope
    To call her a friend

    Whether or not
    We shall ever connect
    I offer her friendship
    And deepest respect
    I loved her once
    And still I care
    If ever she wants
    I will always be there

    awwww! This is nicely written. I remember feeling like this about someone. you want that friendship or communication you lost back with no drama for the past. I think I understand..
