    Real Task

Long overdue change is on the way
Wanting a man who compels my strengths
One not afraid to be a man of courage
To make of me his woman
Doubting not my courage or my internal toughness
A man as good as his word

Untouched the story loses its rhythm
Time for releasing deeper inner instincts
To move beyond this confinement of on-line
Into the world of touch and realness
You were offered a relationship potential
To manifest in reality bringing forth essence

Here we still are with little ground covered
With constrictions and fears still holding gound
It isn't lost nor is it taken, it's been in busy work
Avoidance, the avoidance of choice one day at a time
Compelled into truth love stands yet hasn't gone anywhere
I am tired of hearing of lost love and longing

As though love never came up to you or responded
And gave an invitation to step beyond the keyboard
It has, I witnessed, unvalued it yet retains its essence
For from the depths it issued and still has roots
Lost steps take courage to know your heart
Buried deep within you is with-holding

Keeping you back in the grave of maybe, someday
Love I will make my own, afraid to test the waters
Afraid to repeat the past of mistakes you remain tied
To ideas that a storyline is enough to manifest the heart
When stands before you the unvarnished truth
Withering on the vine of potential unused

Love unable to bypass the barriers of multitudes of bad memories
Unwilling to walk the talk and move into heart rhythm
Always moving instead to a realm where love is on paper
Burning with the ashes of unfulfilled longings
Longings that keep you out of the arms of love
Love has substance it moves with motion its not a pretty line on paper tucked away in the attic of time long gone

What is it that holds you back from moving into touch
What is it that frightens you to the extent that you move away from warmth
How has life gripped you in such agony of indecisiveness that you can no longer hear the life stream of union
Pull off the covering of mind that keeps you ensnared in refexes of inaction
Why for years have you remained hidden unable to come forth bringing yourself fully
Unabashed and unchained the soul shouts to be free

Free to love and free to know without the illusion of distance
Age waits for no man it runs on without a tickertape to ensure you get in under the mark
Subsisting on short liasons of empty threaded infatuated love chats
As though to compensate for the fullness that love is face to face
Day to day it becomes harder to accept the empty words of strangers as the meaning of love, of life, of living, of real loving
Join me in the task of bearing the fruit of love in real-time, in real relation

So many beautiful lines! This is a beautiful piece, not only because of the truth behind it, but also due to the brave way that truth is faced. Excellent!

"To move beyond this confinement of on-line Into the world of touch and realness" — I love this line; so many "virtual lovers" are bound by the limits of their screen. There are so many truthful lines in this profound piece of creativity. Bravo!!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
