Reality

I am humbled by the reality that so little time we possess;

We should be thankful for every second because one lived is one more less

Than the time we have to show the people we care about how much

We love them and we need them and we're proud of them and such...

It scares me to know each breath we take could be the very last,

And thankful that Christ paid the debt in advance for all my sins of my past.

Selfish and blind, we walk through our life; it's not us who should be afraid,

Because it's our children who will be forced to live, lost in the mess we've made!

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
