    Poem Commentary

I made it after reading Renaissance...yup the literal renaissance that begin in Italy...Renaissance the reopening of the eye out from ignorance and superstitious, the revival of human kind...the mode to modernity...Renaissance was just so great that this poem can't justify it...this is just for fun.haha ^_^ v

    Renaissance

    Gone are the times

    When lineage of man

    Is on down,

    This time, this generation

    A new mind sprang,

    Extending the vision

    Of once a narrow sight

    Gone are the days

    Of yesterdays

    When people are blind

    With the trend of freedom

    A new light comes

    Shedding its beam

    at the dimness

    of bruteness of barbarism

    and destroying the dark temple

    of myth and fallacies.

    This light also shattered

    the walls of restriction

    and unvieled

    the shroud of ignorance

    This time, this generation

    is the rebirth

    of a wiser human kind.

Rebirth and renewal are the aim and goal of all human kind, you captured the spirit of social and societal reawakening wonderfully here, well done! A shining example of why renaissance Italy celebrated the arts and poetry and poets thrived, because with an open mind, the beauty of the mundane is laid bare, something you have achieved here.

So many truths spoken here, I hope you are right that this generation is a birth of the wiser humankind.

"destroying the dark temple of myth and fallacies." --- poetically solid, this message needs to be heard and understood. Bravo!!

Know what I really like about this poem? It's about reality. I am so sick of all these stories about quest for the, the whatever! This real world is so magnificent and rich with true stories! That being said, I write stories for the youth...and most are fantasy! lol! But, in my defense, I do write some true stuff. Good job stellar!

i think we've come to this sort of nexus before before, Darlin' ... but i do hope you're right, that "This time, this generation/ is the rebirth/ of a wiser human kind." ... and your style always makes me look at my own language in new ways ... ty for another beautiful post, stellar! -dh

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
