    Poem Commentary

    Weall know we have people who we work with that can be real a-holes, but we deal with it for the sake of our job. We have to pay our bills and feed our family! So this goes out to anyone whose ever felt the same as I do! Even I know you can catch more flies honey than vingar any day!

    RESPECT

                                    As I travel this road called life 
                               I've met many people alone the way
              It's sad to say some of them had words that cut like a knife
                    And to say in my heart each day for them I still pray 
                        Even though I ask why people can be so mean
          What ever happened to compassion, just being a good human being
                    Tell me what makes you think you're better than me 
                            I thought we were all on the same team 
                          Each day we do the job that is asked of us
                  Yet in this busines whose to say who you can trust
           I want you to know that I'm a person with feeling just like you
                         I would never belittle or talk down to you
       With that being said, I expect the same common courtesy from you
                                 You see this is not leadership  
                 Still I see a person who showed no compassionship
                            Yes I may have sheaded a few tears
                                      Today you get this one
                       But trust me you are the least of my fears
                             Do you know the person you are 
                             Or are you someone else by far 
                  Where is it writen that you have to down grade me 
                Is it to make yourself look good, that's not cool you see 
              I was always told if you don't have something nice to say 
                                   Don't say anything at all 
              Can't you see this type of behavior will be your down fall  
                   And the way you handled this was not called for 
                              That's why I walked out the door 
                          May I leave you with a piece of advice 
                     The next time you want to voice your opinion 
                        Think about this it never hurts to be nice

    The funny thing about this poem is that on any given day this is just what you have come to accept......not that we welcome it or feels its warranted....its just become the status quo....Treat others the way you want to be treated.....Unfortunately alot of people could simply care less.....We need to get back to the ....Good Mornings....Good Afternoon....How are You....Hello....or just a smile...

    I second that, because if you dont have any respect for your fellow man what are you left with. I have to say I couldn't have said it better my self, and you are truly on the money. always treat others the way you want to be treated. a simple smile can go so far and mean so much!

    On several occaisions many of the words you have written i wished to telepathically pass on to those i saw disrespecting others at work or have done to me. But also myself. I too have done that sort of thing. Never to a point where ti was harsh, but to point show that my glass isnt squeaky clean either. Excellent write!

    the reason people belittle others is because of lack of self confidence in themselves. they have short comings in the own lives, and the way to overcome that is by disrespecting others. i have a boss like that. nicely done jan.
