Poem Commentary

draw from within... and rise

Rise

I hang from life’s thin strands now

at end’s dark abyss

and weave more onto this frail web

for living I shall miss.

entice the intrusion,

relinquish all thought,

succumb to the incidence

invoking has wrought.

awake from life’s coma

in rapture by yield,

and rise from the casket

self-cast and self-sealed.

Awesome... so many interpretations to this poem... my take is the way we seal ourselves up trying to escape pressures of life.

dragonfly, What a truly wondrous and thought-provoking poem. The direct acceptance og the creature's demise gives he reader the message to accept the end. I love the candid way you deliver this. ginga

Do I laugh or cry at this? Some do seal their casket but some wanna live forever. This is great. Sally

I like it, I like it. There is always life and each of us cannot live without it.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
