    Rock Salt

i made a deal with the devil
    he can take my soul
but he cant touch my spirit
cuz i got no other way to roll

    sent down from heaven
    angel told me son
    gotta do somthin big
if you wanna get outta this one

    find yourself a lover
    go and settle down
when you have a first born
    you gotta get outta town

    do the lords work
    and say your prayers
    you might get outta trouble
    with the man upstairs

i said sure thatll be just fine
    cuz i wont settle down
    at least i think
    for a long long time

fell in love with a girl
    the very next day
    two years later
    same bills to pay

    now i'm on the road
    safe in the sun
but when the moon comes out
    its all undone

    now demons i face
    and they've almost won
with every breath in my body
    ill pick up a gun

    load it with silver
    and rock salt too
    no evil is safe
    when there's work to do

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
