Running from love
I have met the person from
My childhood dreams
The person I was meant to be with
My soulmate
Though you are not as I imagined
You have been broken
You have loved
And in doing so you have
Lost, hurt, been lied to, and damaged
In truth you have been cheated
You have loved only to have been
Let down time and again
Now you run from love, You shun it
You run from me, Afraid I'll be the same
I can see that to love you
Is to cause you pain
I too have run from love
Shut myself off to the world
Thinking that Death would be better
Then I met you and my walls did nothing
To keep you out
Somehow while I was running from love
You came up beside me
Running away yourself
I then for no reason
Other than the memory of you from my
Childhood dreams
I was no longer running away
I was now running to keep pace
To hear why you were running
To find out that you have
Loved and lost too many times before
And I was running
Cuz i was never loved at all
So I ran with you to tell you
We're running not to be loved
But to love without inhibition
But you kept running
When I stopped to love you
Only to find out
That you are running
From being loved
Not from loving me back
So I will keep running
And love you from a distance
For I do not want to trip you
I wish for you to stop
When you are ready.
So know that I'm behind you
Every step of the way
